English Euro NCAP HGV Safety Workshop

Hosted by Carhs, the event brings together global experts to explore the safety of commercial vehicles and takes a deep dive into Euro NCAP’s latest HGV protocols.

On Day 1 of the event, Dr. Andrew Pick, Business Director - Track Test Systems at AB Dynamics, will deliver a presentation titled “An end-to-end solution to simplify Euro NCAP HGV testing”. This talk will outline how AB Dynamics provides a complete, integrated solution for performing heavy vehicle safety assessments in accordance with Euro NCAP's requirements.
The presentation will cover these key points:
- Comprehensive test planning: Determine the test scenarios to run then choose or build test cases to meet testing needs using our software solutions, designed to streamline your workflows.
- Precision control of heavy vehicles with in-vehicle robots: Utilisation of high-performance driving robots for accurate positioning and control.
- Robust platforms and targets: Deployment of versatile ADAS platforms and realistic soft targets for precise testing simulations.
- Efficient data collection and analysis: Implementation of wireless telemetry systems and software for dependable data transfer and synchronisation.
- Streamlined post-process and reporting: Intuitive interfaces and comprehensive reporting tools to enhance data analysis and evaluation.
On Day 2, attendees will have the opportunity to see Euro NCAP’s new HGV scenarios demonstrated live.
AB Dynamics has been involved in supporting Euro NCAP’s Safer Trucks initiative and played an active role during the launch of the first Truck Safe star ratings. Earlier this year, our equipment enabled over 30 successful runs of a challenging AEB test scenario involving a turning truck and a cyclist during demonstrations arranged by Euro NCAP.

The event is set to attract a broad audience from across the commercial vehicle ecosystem, including OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, test houses, regulators and insurers.
