Driverless Test System

Take the driver out of the vehicle and testing efficiency, precision and repeatability.

Specifications

The Driverless Test System consists of four main components: driving robots, the path following system, the safety system, and the control software.

  • Driving robots are devices installed in the test vehicle to control steering, throttle, brake, and gear, enabling the test vehicle to follow a desired path and speed profile with high accuracy and repeatability. A Flex-0 controller can alternatively be used to control the vehicle via its CAN interface.
  • The path following system communicates with the driving robot and the control software to provide feedback and corrections, allowing the test vehicle to follow complex trajectories and manoeuvres, such as lane changes, overtaking, and emergency braking.
  • The safety system monitors the status and performance of the test vehicle and the driving robot. The safety system also provides a remote emergency stop function that can be activated by the operator or by the control software.
  • The control software runs on a laptop or tablet and provides the user interface for the system. This software allows the user to create, edit, and execute test scenarios and paths. It also displays the real-time status and feedback of the test vehicle and the driving robot.
