AB Dynamics and Leane secure European Commission Contract

01.02.2021

AB Dynamics is pleased to announce that our Italian sales and technical partner, Leane International SrL, has been awarded a contract by the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC) in Italy as the supplier of Equipment for Motor Vehicle Safety Compliance and Experimental Testing.

The JRC is the European Commission's science and knowledge service and its scientists are engaged in research to provide independent scientific advice and support to EU policy. The JRC Sustainable Transport Unit is responsible for performing physical testing on vehicles under the EU Regulation 2018/858, and the testing of ADAS functions will be performed in Italy exclusively using AB Dynamics test equipment.

The Framework Contract (the duration of which is set at 4 years) may cover the supply of driving robotsADAS targets and soft impactable dummies, with a contract value in excess of €2m. In addition to the testing of current generation ADAS technology, it is anticipated that the JRC will use the equipment for testing autonomous vehicles and to assist with the development of future UN ECE regulations.

AB Dynamics Sales Director, Jeremy Ash, said “We were extremely pleased to be selected by this prestigious research centre as its sole supplier of driving robots and ADAS test equipment. We offer the widest and most capable range of ADAS testing equipment available, and we believe that this – together with the top-drawer local support that we could offer with our Italian partner Leane International SrL  – was what the JRC was looking for. Our equipment is already used by every major vehicle manufacturer globally and all eight Euro NCAP labs, so this contract further enhances our valued relationship with the test standard setters.”
