Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior In-House Commercial Lawyer to join our small but dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in negotiating commercial contracts with some exposure to other common in-house related activities: negotiating property related agreements (leases, property sales), mergers and acquisitions (M&A), managing employment related issues, risk management and the purchasing insurances. We are looking for someone with a pragmatic commercial approach, who is willing and able to manage their own work load, and work as team.

What will you be doing?

Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including supplier agreements, service contracts, and partnership agreements.
Provide legal advice on property-related matters, including leases, acquisitions, disposals, and property management.
Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and advise on risk management strategies.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support business objectives and provide proactive legal guidance.
Provide timely and pragmatic legal advice to various business units and subsidiaries (frequently in other jurisdictions).
Manage external legal counsel appointed business consultants advising on mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions.
Stay updated on legal developments and industry trends to ensure the company remains compliant and competitive.
Conduct legal training for staff on relevant legal issues and company policies.

What are we looking for?

Law degree from an accredited institution.
Qualified solicitor/barrister with a valid practicing certificate.
Demonstratable post-qualification experience in-house with a focus on contracts and commercial law.
Proven track record of successfully managing complex legal transactions and negotiations.
Familiarity with the engineering industry and related legal issues.
Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
High level of integrity and professional ethics.
