AB Dynamics joins the Association for Standardization of Automation and Measuring Systems

14.05.2020

AB Dynamics has joined the Association for Standardization of Automation and Measuring Systems (ASAM), a non-profit organisation that promotes standardisation for tool chains in automotive development and testing.

Included is the validation of autonomous driving functions, providing the basis for uniform methods and toolchains for the validation and verification of highly automated (Level 4) and autonomous (Level 5) vehicles in urban environments.

Members include international car manufacturers, system suppliers, tool vendors, engineering service providers and research institutes from the automotive industry. AB Dynamics and partner company rFpro will primarily be involved in the driving simulation project groups including OpenSCENARIO which describes complex, synchronized manoeuvres that involve multiple entities like vehicles, pedestrians and other traffic participants. Other groups include OpenDRIVE and OpenCRG for the description of road networks and road surfaces in driving simulation applications.

Matthew Hubbard, Chief Technology Officer at AB Dynamics said: “We are pleased to be a member of ASAM and work with the organisation as well as the major car manufacturers and system suppliers to develop appropriate standards, and adapt our driving simulation and track testing products in line with these standards."
