Electric Vehicle Developer uses SPMM remotely during COVID-19

19.06.2020

Remote working has become the standard for most companies during COVID-19 and it's no different for a US-based EV startup, who is using AB Dynamics' Suspension Parameter Measurement Machine (SPMM) to run K&C tests on their electric pickup truck.

Engineers at the Electric Vehicle automaker devised a way to remotely control diagnostic settings and stream real-time data from the vehicle which is currently located over 2500 miles away at Morse Measurements LLC in North Carolina. Suspension experts at Morse Measurements have been conducting vehicle K&C tests using AB Dynamics' SPMM since it was installed in 2005. They assist automotive engineers in the design, tuning, and simulation of vehicle suspensions for improved handling and ride performance on all types of vehicles including NASCAR racing vehicles.

The SPMM is used by suspension engineers to develop the next generation of vehicles including autonomous and those related to sustainable transportation such as battery, hybrid and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles. It is also used for hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation, including the generation and validation of vehicle models.
